confetti starfall.
I wake to cacophony,
Bleached tinnitus and the
Vicious pealing of harsh
Bells upon rusted barrel-drums,
No weddings for centuries,
No song for an age,
Earth scarified and plagued beneath
My sun,
Gone small and white,
A pustule hanging
From some lofty rafter,
Doomed to obsolescence.
Effigies in feathered headdresses
Burn the horizon,
Bounding an island of rotten
Mind, leaving it to feed
Upon itself and find only the
Meagre joys
Of speeding by its passing,
This patchwork motley
Of vaguely interwoven
Despondent chums,
Together to be
Parted.
The answers to
Questions
Asked
Funnelled through
Rat-withered copper wires,
Sent from the sky at
The snapping of
Foul and angry finger and thumb,
I can taste this
Deserved contempt
In the trees that smoke
Beneath the hateful kiss
Of sky-sparks, strewn
About, a hot
Confetti.
Now it’s all gone
We can regret.

“The concept is simple. Take a blank sheet with nothing but the basic outline of a pinup girl and illustrate a unique scene around her.”

Fear of the present leads to mystification of the past.
The past is not for living in; it is a well of conclusions from which we draw in order to act.
just press play, you will not regret

What a shame it is
The hour that we realise
We might not
Ever live in fantasy.
Erring on the side of chaos
In permanent refrain
Please feed me a lifeline
Or some means of escape.
Soylent Green (1973)
There’s rarely cause for concern where Charlton’s involved. Really quirky, madcap dystopian film that feels as if it’s landing pretty near the mark with regards to the current state of the world. Ecologically and economically relevant, encompasses a massive increase in world population, overcrowding, poverty, hunger and starvation. Are we but a few steps away from SOYLENT GREEN?
